• To watch: Just click a video to launch the player. You can discover videos by channel, tag, user, features, most recent or most popular.
• To share: Come up with an idea, catch it on video, join Dailymotion, upload the video, and tag it so other users can find it.
• To participate: Join a group. A group is a community of people who publish videos based on a common interest, theme, location, hobby, or whatever.

Tags are keywords you add to videos to make them easier to find.

The tagging process enables user-driven navigation within channels and throughout the site. For example, if you upload a video of your birthday party in Hawaii to the “Travel” channel, you could tag it "birthday party travel Hawaii beach summer". People browsing the Travel channel might find it under "Hawaii" or "beach", and anyone on the site could find it by searching for any of your terms. You can also search tags by adding them to the site URL like this: "www.dailymotion.com/tag/hawaii+birthday" etc.

The more you tag, the more you share!

1. Go to the registration page.
2. Choose a username and password, and enter a valid email address.
3. You will receive a confirmation email containing a hyperlink.
4. Click this link to confirm your email address with Dailymotion.
5. Welcome to the community!

1. When you are logged in, access your profile and click either "my account" (on the menu bar below your username) or "edit my account" (in the sidebar to the right) to access your profile settings, then click on "avatar".
2. Check the box certifying that you have the right to distribute this image.
3. Browse your files to find the appropriate picture.
4. Select the photo to upload, check "save", and if the picture is an acceptable size and file type, it will display.

2. If you have an avatar, you can remove it completely by clicking on "remove picture".

• 1. When you are logged in, you select "Edit contact" in your friends list.
• 2. You click on the "x" at the right of the group that you want to delete.

2. Click "change e-mail" and fill in the following fields: new e-mail, new e-mail (again), and your Dailymotion password.
3. Click "Save". You will receive an notification e-mail at your old address, and a confirmation e-mail at your new one. If you do not receive your confirmation email, you can resend it from your personal info page. Your request will expire after 7 days.

1. When logged in, select "Compose" in your Inbox.
2. Type in the names of the friends you would like to send a message to (you can send a message only to your contacts).
3. Type a subject, write your message and click "send." The person you send the message to will be notified the next time they log in, or by a notification email, depending upon their account preferences.

2. Click on "friend requests", then "approve" or "ignore" the pending requests.

1. When logged in, access your Inbox from the header and select "Messages" in the left sidebar.
2. Click the "x" at the right of the message to delete it.

1. When logged in, you can share a video by clicking on "share this video" on the player page.
2. Select a friend from your list, or type a username or email in the text field, and click "Send". Other Dailymotion users will receive this shared video in their Inbox; friends of yours who have not registered will receive a link to the video.

1. When logged in, access your Inbox at the right corner of the header and then select "Sent messages" from the left sidebar.
2. Click the message you want to read to open it.

2. Check the box "I receive a new message in my Inbox."

2. Click on the "Camera" tab within the Adobe Flash Player Settings window (usually this is already selected).
3. Choose your webcam from the drop-down menu:

• If using an external USB webcam, or an internal webcam on an Apple computer, select "USB Video Class Video"
• For Mac users with an external iSight camera choose: IIDC Firewire Video
• If using an attached DV camcorder, choose "DV Video".

If the video is still not working, click "Config" again and click on the blue "?" in the top right corner of the Adobe Flash Player Settings window. You will be forwarded to the Flash Player Help page.

3. Check the Record Volume setting - is it set high enough?
4. Choose your sound input device from the drop-down menu:

• Users with a laptop which has a built-in mic should select "built-in microphone".
• If you have an external input device connected to your computer's line-in connection, choose "built-in input".
• If you want to record your voice through an attached DV camcorder's microphone, choose "DV-Video".

If the sound is still not working, click "Config" again and click on the blue "?" in the top right corner of the Adobe Flash Player Settings window. You will be forwarded to the Flash Player Help page
